Cavaliers Hold off Warriors

LeBron James produced 37 points, 11 assists and eight rebounds to lead his Cleveland Cavaliers past the Golden State Warriors 117-114 yesterday at the Oracle Arena in Oakland. LBJ saw the opportunity to further develop his inside game against a smaller Warriors lineup. “It’s a point in my game I worked on a lot this offseason and it’s something I know I can go to throughout the game,” said James. “Tonight was a perfect time for it.”

Cleveland’s Zydrunas Ilgauskas, Jawad Williams and Anderson Varejao were able to contribute double digit numbers to outscore the opposing bench by 41 points. The Cavs were up by 10 with 2:48 left in regulation before the Warriors rallied to make it a three-point game. Stephen Curry fired up a shot from 34-feet out at the buzzer but failed to really get an honest look. Golden State is scheduled to host the Miami Heat tomorrow as the Cavs continue their west coast road trip in Utah against the Jazz on Thursday.
