Captain Paul Pierce netted 24 points in 28 minutes, convincingly leading his squad past the struggling New Jersey Nets 111-87 Wednesday at the IZOD Center. The Celtics came out of the gates on fire with 38 first quarter points. Ray Allen added 15 in his 25 minutes played. Brian Scalabrine, Kendrick Perkins, Rajon Rondo, Tony Allen and Glen Davis all contributed with double-digit numbers.
Boston was certainly motivated in yesterday’s contest following their disappointing 102-96 loss to the Atlanta Hawks at home. “This team, we’ve been very resilient all year, no matter who, or how, or what,” said Allen. “You go out and get ready for the game, everybody knows what the game plan is and win or loss, the next game you’ve got to bounce back.”
The C’s are scheduled to travel back to the Garden tonight for a game against the Chicago Bulls before they host the Dallas Mavericks on Monday, January 18th. Boston Celtics tickets are now available!
