Following last weekend’s hard fought 51-45 OT victory over the Green Bay Packers back home in Glendale, the Arizona Cardinals (10-6) are rightfully fired up to take on the New Orleans Saints (13-3) in the NFC Divisional round Sunday at the Superdome. Arizona fans shouldn’t be shocked to witness another offensive heavy battle from both sides of the field, as Drew Brees and the Saints have ranked #1 in total yards gained in three of the past four seasons.
“Everybody thinks this is going to be an offensive shootout,” said Brees. “Obviously, I hope that we score a lot of points, but in the end, you have two defenses that play with a lot of confidence and play with a lot of pride, and I’m sure that they would have something to say about this.”
The contest will mark the first ever post-season meeting between the Cardinals and Saints. Kurt Warner last battled in Drew’s stomping grounds in 2007 when New Orleans continued on to take the 31-24 advantage. In that game the two veteran QB’s threw for a combined total of 548 yards and five touchdowns. Saints vs. Cardinals tickets are now available!
