San Diego Charged Up for Jets

The New York Jets after a wild road through the 2009-2010 regular season have advanced to the AFC Divisional round where they will face the hottest team in the NFL this Sunday, the 13-3 San Diego Chargers. The veteran Chargers lineup are entering their playoff campaign with an 11-game win streak. In the past two seasons San Diego has advanced with at least four consecutive victories under their belt, only to lose in the first two rounds.

“We’ve been there before. We’ve been the popular pick to win the Super Bowl before and haven’t,” said LB Shawne Merriman. “Our whole mentality this year is completely different, in not looking too far ahead down the road. That’s been the big key this year altogether, is not looking too far down the road.”

The Chargers have been unstoppable lately on the offensive end, but we’ll see how well they can produce against the league’s top ranked defense. “Both teams are carrying a lot of momentum going into this game,” said Jets coach Rex Ryan. “It’s just going to be who can out-execute the other.” Game time is set for Sunday, January 17th at Qualcomm Stadium.
