Favre, Vikings Handle Cowboys

Brett Favre became the first 40 year old to claim victory in the playoffs, leading his Vikings to win over the Dallas Cowboys 34-3 yesterday in Minneapolis. The 19-year veteran picked apart the Cowboys defense through all four quarters, completing 15 of 24 passes for 234 yards and four TD’s. “This is what I came back for,” said Favre with a smile after the big win. “Probably the most fatigued I got today was celebrating.”

Head coach Brad Childress didn’t hesitate to address the many predictions in favor of the Cowboys. “The Tasmanian devils were coming from Dallas that were about to bombard the state of Minnesota and run through us like Sherman through the South,” he said. “All of us felt it quite palpably.” The Vikings are set to advance to the NFC Championship against the top-ranked New Orleans Saints away at the Superdome. Vikings vs. Saints tickets are now available!
