Anaheim Ducks Mid-Season Report

By on January 24, 2008 in

Recap – Hockey in the Pacific Division has been a neck and neck race for the top spot since week two of the NHL season. The Anaheim Ducks have held a share of the lead before, but currently sit just one point below the Stars in the standings. This team is very streaky and right now that is working in their favor. At 7-2-1 over their last 10 games, the Ducks are looking very mighty. Seriously though, where did the ‘Mighty’ go? Anyway, one thing that has hindered the Ducks from securing the number one spot in the Pacific is their inability to win games on the road.

2nd Half – If the Ducks want to repeat last years Stanley Cup Championship, they need to find a way to win away from Anaheim. They currently lead the division in home wins (16) but also lead in road losses (12). Center Ryan Getzlaf has been great, as usual, but this team will not be a real contender like they were last year.

Team Name: Anaheim Ducks (27-19-6)

Pacific Division Standing: 2nd place

Conference Standing: 3rd place
Final Predictions – 3rd in Pacific Division, 8th in Western Conference
