Seven of the 14 reserves representing their respective teams are making their first ever All-Star appearance in this year’s events at Cowboy Stadium in Dallas, TX. Chicago fans haven’t seen an All-Star since Michael Jordan in 1998, at least until PG Derrick Rose takes the floor in 2010 to represent the East. Jordan took the time to offer his congratulations, saying “I’m very happy for him. The Bulls deserve an All-Star. Rose is a very special player.”
Players featured from the Eastern Conference include Allen Iverson, Dwayne Wade, LeBron James, Kevin Garnett, Dwight Howard, Chris Bosh, Rajon Rondo, Joe Johnson, Gerald Wallace, Paul Pierce, Derrick Rose and Al Horford. The West consists of Steve Nash, Kobe Bryant, Carmelo Anthony, Tim Duncan, Amare Stoudemire, Kevin Durant, Chris Paul, Dirk Nowitzki, Brandon Roy, Zach Randolph, Deron Williams and Pau Gasol.
The rookie-sophomore matchup, three-point and dunk contest are set for Friday and Saturday to lead up to the main event. The official All-Star Game will take place on Sunday, February 14th at 7:00 PM. NBA All-Star tickets are now available!
