Veteran RW Marian Gaborik racked up four points against New York Rangers teammate Henrik Lundqvist, lifting Team Chara past Team Alfredsson 12-9 to cap this year’s NHL All-Star festivities at Scotiabank Place in Ottawa. Zdeno Chara came up with a crucial goal in the third period and opposing captain Daniel Alfredsson supplied two goals and one assist in front of his hometown crowd.

Bruins goalie Tim Thomas earned an NHL-record fourth straight All-Star win, collecting 18 saves on 21 shots in the final block. “That’s Timmy,” said Chara. “He’s very competitive. You can’t blame him. That’s the only way he can play, otherwise he’s not really effective. He’s always competitive and that’s him.”

The Bruins have a string of home games coming up, set to host the Ottawa Senators, Carolina Hurricanes and Pittsburgh Penguins at the Garden this week.
