Rock icon Roger Waters will be performing at Fenway Park Sunday, July 1st as part of his relaunch of The Wall Live Tour this summer. Chicago’s Wrigley Field, NYC’s Yankee Stadium and Philadelphia’s Citizens Bank Park are also among several stadiums set to host Waters in 2012.
Waters tested his new outdoor set-up at Fenway Park a few months back. “We’re going to be projecting over 140 yards,” Waters told Rolling Stone in September. “So now it’s going to be 1,500 pixels wide. We’ve done light tests at Fenway Park and Wrigley Field and Yankee Stadium just to see what the ambient light is like. And it’s fine. It works.”
The venue for Boston was listed as TBD when the tour schedule released in November. It was certainly no secret as to where fans were hoping to see the show. Other artist to previously play Fenway include Bruce Springsteen, Jimmy Buffett, the Rolling Stones, Dave Matthews Band, the Police, Neil Diamond, Phish, Paul McCartney, Aerosmith and J. Geils Band.
