Celtics Fall to Late Spurs Rally

By on February 9, 2009 in

With just 45 seconds to go in the 4th quarter of last night’s game, the Celtics held a one point lead. Boston’s costly mistakes and San Antonio’s stellar play led to 11 straight points to leave the game at a 105-99 final. Manu Ginobli’s steal off of Ray Allen’s inbound pass put the game out of reach.

“We’ve got a tough task in front of us, going on the road for the next couple of weeks, and we’ve got to make up some ground,” Celtics Captain Paul Pierce told Jimmy Golen of the AP. “We have our work cut out for us. This is a big road trip for us.”

The Celtics go to New Orleans to face the Hornets on February 11th.
