Izzard is a highly acclaimed comedian winning two Emmy awards for his show Dress to Kill, a New York Drama Desk Award, two British Comedy Awards for Top Stand-Up Comedian, and an Olivier Award nomination for Outstanding Achievement.
He has also been in many major films such as Valkyrie opposite Tom Cruise, Ocean’s Twelve and Ocean’s Thirteen opposite George Clooney and Brad Pitt, and many others.
Starting his comedy career as a street performer in 1983, Eddie Izzard has come a long way. Ten years later, he took his talents to the West End and had his first stand-up show Live at The Ambassadors. Since then, he has been selling out shows internationally.
His World Tour “force majeure” will have visited 27 countries by the end of 2014. This marks one of the most extensive comedy shows ever!
Inspired by Monty Python, Izzard’s comedic style has loose improvisations as well as whimsical dialogues that often turn into entertaining tangents. Izzard is also known for cross-dressing and referring to himself as a “male lesbian” or a “straight transvestite”.
