New York City rockers The Strokes are scheduled to celebrate their return at Madison Square Garden Friday, April 1st before taking part in the Coachella and Bonnaro festivals. They are expecting to release their first studio album in five years this March. Additional tour plans have yet to be revealed, but group members have confirmed full commitment to their comeback in 2011. “We want to come back strong but slowly, so we can grow live and also make new music,” said guitarist Albert Hammond, Jr. “We want to release albums quicker.”
The Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival is set for Sunday April 17th in Indio, CA. The Strokes have also agreed to make an appearance at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival Saturday, May 7th before the annual Bonnaro Music & Arts Festival starts up in June. The April Fool’s Day concert at the 20,000 capacity Madison Square Garden will mark their biggest hometown performance to date. Don’t miss The Strokes live at MSG! Tickets are now available!
