The Boston Celtics agreed to send center Kendrick Perkins and guard Nate Robinson to the Oklahoma City Thunder for forward Jeff Green and big man Nenad Krstic just before Thursday’s 3 PM trade deadline. Green is averaging 15.2 points and 5.6 rebounds this season for the Thunder behind Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook. He is certainly a young talent who can provide a spark off the bench in the swingman position for the Celtics.
Krstic, a six year veteran, has posted 7.6 points and 4.4 rebounds in under 22 minutes per game this season for OKC. Boston will rely on Shaquille O’Neal, Kevin Garnett and Krstic to carry the load down low in the absence of Perkins. The Thunder will look forward to having Perk in the middle when they face their top Western Conference rivals between the Spurs, Lakers and Mavericks. Nate Robinson will be a good addition in the backcourt behind Westbrook.
Boston also shipped out rookies Semih Erden and Luke Harangody to Cleveland to open up a pair of roster spots. The team is now preparing to take on the Denver Nuggets tonight at the Pepsi Center. Check back for more Boston Celtics updates!
