The Boston Bruins have three home games at TD Garden this week. They will play the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday February 28, the New Jersey Devils on Thursday March 1, and the Pittsburgh Penguins Sunday March 4. At 37-20-3, the Bruins are in first place in the Northeast Division. Over the past ten games, they have a 5-5 record, including a win this past Saturday against the Senators away. They’re hoping to end February with a win and have a successful March.
This week, the Boston Celtics will play three at home against the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday February 29, The New Jersey Nets on Friday March 2, and the New York Knicks on Sunday March 4. Before the All-Star break, the Celtics lost five in a row, and at 15-17 on the season, they want to finish the rest of the season off strong.
BC Eagles basketball will host Georgia Tech this week on Wednesday February 29 at home in Conte Forum. BC is 8-20 on the season, while the Yellow Jackets stand at 10-18. The teams played earlier in the month in Atlanta with BC falling 51-47. Led by freshman forward Ryan Anderson, freshman guard Jordan Daniels, and junior guard Matt Humphrey, the Eagles are a young team trying to get back on track and finish the season off on a high-note.
Hockey East rivals, Boston University (20-11-1) and Northeastern (12-15-5) will meet for two games this week, Friday March 2 at Agganis Arena and Saturday March 3 at Matthews Arena. The Terriers and Huskies played earlier in the regular season with BU on top 4-3. BU is coming off a close win this past Saturday against Vermont, 3-2, while Northeastern lost to Maine 7-1.
Country Singer Pat Green is coming to the House of Blues on Thursday March 1. His new album, Songs We Wish We’d Written II, is scheduled to be released on May 8, 2012 and he has a music video out for his new single, “All Just to Get to You.” The Texas singer has nine studio albums and two live albums to date, 15 singles hitting the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, and is currently touring all over the U.S.
On Friday March 2, jam band Moe will be performing at the House of Blues. The band will kick off their Winter Tour 2012 in Vermont on March 1. Their new album, What Happened to the LA-LA’s, dropped in January 2012, their first since releasing part two of their Dr. Stan’s Prescription Album Series in 2008. In addition to performing at music festivals across the country, the band also takes part in many fundraisers, most recently at a food bank in Pittsburgh. They will be joined by Ghosts of Jupiter for the House of Blues show.
