Celtics PG Rajon Rondo contributed 15 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists for his 16th career triple-double during last night’s 102-96 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks at TD Garden. The two-time All-Defensive first-teamer also limited Milwaukee’s Brandon Jennings to just six points on 2-of-11 shooting.
Rondo’s name continues to resurface in regards to trade rumors. ESPN released a report yesterday that stated Boston’s high interest in trading the five-year veteran. Despite the increased chatter, Rondo certainly proved his worth en route to Boston’s second straight win since the All-Star break.
“On both ends of the court, Rondo played tremendous,” Celtics captain Paul Pierce said. “He did a great job of shutting down Brandon Jennings, and he’s out there getting rebounds, doing things, making passes – he made us a tough team to beat.”
Kevin Garnett controlled the inside game for the C’s with 25 points and 10 rebounds. Brandon Bass and Ray Allen scored 16 and 15, respectively.
