Vampire Weekend’s ‘Giving Up the Gun’

By on March 1, 2010 in

Indie rock band Vampire Weekend just recently produced a music video in light of their latest single “Giving Up the Gun.” The song is recognized as the third featured hit from their 2010 studio project Contra. After its release in January, Contra went on to sell 124,000 copies in one week alone. The group has scheduled a handful of concerts in various North American cities that include Boston, New York City, Denver, Chicago, Philadelphia and Oakland.

In this particular video they believed it would be humorous to showcase a few recognizable celebrities. During the number of high intensity tennis matches you will be able to identify RZA, Jake Gyllenhaal, Lil John and Joe Jonas. “We always thought RZA would be perfect. We’d been in touch with Lil Jon since the first album,” said lead singer Ezra Koenig. “He heard the reference on ‘Oxford Comma’ and sent us some cases of Crunk Juice. Joe Jonas and Jake Gyllenhaal were both excellent – lot of improvisation and some surprisingly powerful serves.” Check the video below.Vampire Weekend tickets are now available!
