Bruins Fall to Habs, Add Defensemen

The Boston Bruins recently made a few roster adjustments following their return from the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Games. The Bruins were able to pick up Dennis Seidenberg and Matthew Bartkowski from the Florida Panthers for Byron Bitz and Craig Weller. The Anaheim Ducks sent Steve Kampfer to Boston for a fourth-round draft pick. Lastly, the B’s reached a deal with the Edmonton Oilers, trading Matt Marquardt for Cody Wild. The NHL trade deadline is 3:00 PM this afternoon.

In their first game at the Garden since the break, the Bruins found themselves struggling in the third period of play. The defense ended up allowing four goals through the block, resulting in a 4-1 Montreal Canadiens victory. “You could tell we hadn’t played in a couple of weeks,” said Bruins coach Claude Julien. “Somehow, we started to fade after they scored that first goal.”

Boston is now 27-23-11 heading into Thursday’s contest against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Make sure to purchase your Boston Bruins tickets as they fight to solidify their playoff spot in the home stretch of the regular season!
