Red Sox Stage Comeback Win Over Cincinnati

By on March 26, 2009 in ,

Aaron Reza hit a clutch two-run double with one out in the 9th to give the Boston Red Sox the 2-1 victory over the Cincinnati Reds at Sarasota Florida last Wednesday.  Clay Buchholz had a stellar performance on the mound, throwing six innings allowing one unearned run on three hits.  Buchholz is ready to go this season as he has averaged a 0.46 ERA this spring.

Despite his fantastic showing Buccholz got the no decision and Hideki Okajima picked up the win after holding the Reds scoreless in the eighth.  Cincinnati’s starting pitcher Johnny Cueto gave up just two hits and struck out five in his six innings thrown.

The Red Sox will face the St. Louis Cardinals next tomorrow at 1:05 p.m.  Josh Beckett is scheduled to make the start for Boston.
