KG, Celtics Handle Jazz at Home

Kevin Garnett contributed 23 points and 10 rebounds to lead his Boston Celtics past the Utah Jazz 94-82 last night at TD Garden. The C’s have won their last 5-of-6 and are tied with the Philadelphia 76ers atop the Atlantic Division at 28-22.

“We kind of smell the end of the season, with the playoffs coming,” said Boston captain Paul Pierce. “This is the time of year you’ve got to step it up and get ready.” Pierce netted 20 points and gained six rebounds during his 36 minutes on the floor. Brandon Bass scored 19 points, and Rajon Rondo had 14 assists for Boston.

Former Celtic Al Jefferson had 18 points and 12 rebounds for the Jazz, who had won seven of their last eight games. The Celtics will hit the road for their next contest tomorrow night at Minnesota before hosting the Miami Heat at the Garden Sunday, April 1st.
