Dirty Dancing–The Classic Story on Stage is headed to Boston next month. Called an unprecedented live experience, the show has been seen by millions across the globe.
The story of Baby and Johnny is told through vivacious music, passionate romance and carefully crafted dance numbers. The two independent spirits come from different worlds, but will come together for the most challenging and triumphant summer of their lives.
The company most recently did a “Mash-Potato” flash mob at the 2015 Boston Flower and Garden Show. The March 13 performance featured 20 local dancers with production stars Samuel Pergande and Gillian Abbott. Jillian Mueller will be playing Baby during the Boston stint.
Opening night at the Emerson Colonial Theatre is April 28 and the show runs through May 10. Boston Theater cites it as suitable for ages 10 and up, with some mature themes.
A remake of the original 1987 film is still lingering, so a live stage production might be the next best thing.
