Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker met with reporters after representing New England during Nike’s unveiling of its “Elite 51” uniforms for all 32 NFL teams earlier today in New York. Welker seemed cool and collected at the event when asked about his contract situation.
“I’m just excited to be back with the Patriots, and excited to know I’m going to be here this next year, and looking forward to the season,” he said while discussing the Patriots decision to use their franchise tag on him. “That’s a lot of money, so I’m definitely kind of excited about it. I think we’ll kind of see how things go.”
The Patriots will enter the 2012 NFL Draft with four picks in the first two rounds, possessing six selections overall. The Draft will be held from April 26 through April 28 at New York City’s Radio City Music Hall. More New England Patriots updates to come!
