Rajon Rondo netted 21 points while dishing out seven assists to lead the Boston Celtics past the Toronto Raptors 115-104 yesterday at the Air Canada Centre. The contest featured five Celtics in double figures to earn their eight consecutive victory over the Raptors. Michael Finley was a key contributor with 14 points off the bench as the Big 3 combined for 57, respectively.
“Our shooting won the game for us tonight,” said Celtics coach Doc Rivers. “When Ray and Michael get it going at the same time and they’re both on the floor, that makes us really good because we can still pound the ball down low and affect the other team’s ability to take the low-post game away because they’re so worried about the guys out on the perimeter.”
With the victory the C’s were able to slide into the #3 spot in the Eastern Conference standings with a 49-29 record. The Atlanta Hawks rank beside them following a pair of losses to the Detroit Pistons and Charlotte Bobcats. Boston is currently preparing to host the Washington Wizards tomorrow night at 7:30 PM. They will then hit the road for two games in Milwaukee and Chicago before closing the regular season at the Garden against the Bucks. Boston Celtics regular season and playoff tickets are now available!
