Bruins Begin Cup Defense Against Ovechkin, Capitals

By on April 9, 2012 in

The Boston Bruins are looking to defend their champion status upon heading into the 2012 postseason. The team announced the schedule for the first round of the playoffs where they will go up against the Washington Capitals.

The Bruins will play the first two games at home at the TD Garden before the series will move to Washington for two games. If the teams need more than four games to decide the series, they’ll play Game 5 in Boston, Game 6 in Washington, and Game 7 back in Boston.

Washington won the regular season series 4-1. The Bruins recovered from a slump in late March to make a strong finish and won four out of their last five games. They’ll look to carry that momentum into the playoffs and get the first round started off right in front of the passionate home crowd.
