Ace Ticket has teamed up with another Boston media outlet to create a unique live studio environment. 98.5 the Sports Hub will now broadcast live from the Ace Ticket Fenway Store (121 Brookline Ave) during select Red Sox home games. The ribbon cutting for the new Sports Hub Ace Ticket Studio took place on Wednesday April 7 at 5:00pm, 2 hours before the Red Sox and Yankees matched up for the rubber game of their three game opening series. The studio made its broadcast debut on Red Sox Opening Day (April 4, 2010) with a live broadcast by Michael Felger and Tony Massarotti.
The Sports Hub/Ace Studio is Ace Ticket’s second partnership on a media studio. In 2009 Ace Ticket and Comcast Sports Net opened the Comcast Ace Ticket studio at Ace’s Causeway street location, directly across from the TD Garden. Comcast broadcasts live from the Ace Ticket studio before and after every Boston Celtics home game. “The studio project went so well with Comcast that we couldn’t wait to do a similar project at our Fenway location. Customers in our Garden and Fenway locations will catch a glimpse of the live broadcasts before Celtics and Red Sox games while they are picking up their tickets” said Ace Ticket CEO James Holzman.
“As 98.5 The Sports Hub enters our first full baseball season, this new partnership with Ace Ticket is a perfect fit for us. Having a fishbowl studio on Brookline Ave just steps from Fenway will benefit both brands.” said Mike Thomas, Program Director of 98.5 The Sports Hub.
Ace Ticket Worldwide, Inc. was founded in 1979 in Boston, Massachusetts. Ace Ticket is the largest ticket reseller in the New England area, selling tickets to a variety of events both locally and nationally. Ace Ticket is an official sponsor of the Boston Red Sox.
WBZ-FM “98.5 The Sports Hub” broadcasts on 98.5 MHz in Boston, Massachusetts. Owned by CBS Radio, the current WBZ-FM began on August 13, 2009 and competes with AM sports talk stations WEEI. WBZ-FM is home to the Boston Bruins and the New England Patriots radio networks.
