Miroslav Satan came through with the go-ahead score in the third round of the necessary OT shootout for the Boston Bruins to defeat the Washington Capitals 3-4 yesterday at the TD Garden. The W led Boston to earn the six spot in the Eastern Conference standings. Despite their recent offensive struggles, the B’s were able to notch at least three goals in each of their three remaining contests.

“It’s nice getting a little momentum going into the playoffs,” said LW Shawn Thornton, “and it was nice seeing everybody come to work when we had our best players out.” The Bruins will now look forward to their upcoming first round series against the third place Buffalo Sabres. The initial two games in Buffalo are set for Thursday, April 15th and Saturday, April 17th. The series will then travel to Boston starting Monday, April 19th. Check for the complete schedule below.
