Junior middleweight champion Yuri Foreman is scheduled to battle ex-welterweight champion Miguel Cotto Saturday, June 5th at Yankee Stadium. This will mark the first boxing match at the Yankees new facility. The last fight at the original stadium featured Muhammad Ali and Ken Norton in 1976. Fight promoter Bob Arum expects over 30,000 to be in attendance. “Yankee Stadium just brings up memories of fabulous sports nights,” he said. “How could anyone who has a feeling for momentous things not be here?”

Yankees COO Lonn Trost hopes for locals to find excitement in the upcoming regional showdown, with Cotto’s primary supporters residing in the Bronx as Forman holds a strong following in Brooklyn. Cotto has racked up a 34-2 career record with 11 knockouts. Foreman is still fighting with a flawless record at 28-0. Check back for Cotto vs. Foreman tickets right here at!
