Roger Waters to Bring Back ‘The Wall’

By on April 13, 2010 in

Longtime singer-songwriter-musician Roger Waters is set to perform his most famous project as frontman of legendary rock group Pink Floyd at 35 major venues across the country. The Wall will first be showcased in its entirety at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto Wednesday, September 15th before hitting Chicago’s United Center for two nights starting Monday, September 20th. Rogers is also expecting to play cities that include Boston, New York City, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Houston, Dallas, Denver, Las Vegas, Phoenix and Anaheim.

“30 years ago when I wrote The Wall I was a frightened young man…It took me a long time to get over my fears,” said Rogers in a message to his fans. “Anyway, in the intervening years it has occurred to me that maybe the story of my fear and loss with its concomitant inevitable residue of ridicule, shame and punishment, provides an allegory for broader concerns: Nationalism, racism, sexism, religion, Whatever! All these issues and ‘isms are driven by the same fears that drove my young life.”

Following its release in November of 1979, The Wall went on to position itself among the top five best-selling albums of all time. The bands ninth studio record features classic tracks “Another Brick in the Wall,” “Hey You,” “Comfortably Numb,” and “In the Flesh.” Don’t miss your chance to witness Roger Waters perform The Wall live in concert!
