Bruins Fall to Caps, Series Even at 2-2

The Bruins and Capitals are tied at two. In another close scoring game, rookie goalie Braden Holtby did a nice job of holding off the Bruins.

The Capitals scored their two goals from center Marcus Johansson in the first period with a snap shot and left wing Alexander Semin in the second with another snap shot. Boston tied it up in the first with center Rich Peverley’s wrist shot, but were unable to do much else through the rest of the game.

Tim Thomas played a strong defense, blocking 19 of 21 shots, but it was Holtby’s game as he blocked all but one of the 45 shots the Bruins made on net. The Bruins’ need an offensive spark, but with Thomas keeping it close, they have a chance to win each time out on the ice.

The exciting series comes back to Boston at the TD Garden for a 3:00 pm game on Saturday April 21. Thomas and the Bruins will look to reclaim the series with a win at home.
