Bruins Up 2-0 Heading to Montreal

By on April 20, 2009 in ,

The Boston Bruins are having no trouble with their old rival the Montreal Canadiens. The Bruins looked unstoppable on Saturday, dismissing the Canadiens 5-1 on the strength of their power play. The Bruins who lost in seven games to Montreal in last year’s opening round can close out the series with two wins in Montreal this week.

The Bruins had three power play goals, two coming from Marc Savard and the other assisted by Savard to Ryder.  After two periods of play the game was already in the bag at 5-1.

Action resumes tonight with Game 2 at Montreal. The Bruins will be down two defenseman. They lost Matt Hunwick to an emergency spleen operation and Milan Lucic will be serving a one game suspension for a cross check in game 2.  Boston Bruins playoff tickets are available for all remaining games and rounds.
