Yankees Win 6th Straight as Hughes Dominates

It wasn’t the first time Phil Hughes flirted with a no-hitter, but alas it wasn’t meant to be again.  His no-hit bid against the A’s was broken up on a come backer to the mound in the 8th inning. Despite losing the no-hitter Hughes dominance led to the 6th straight Yankees win and their 11th overall on the season.  Hughes stuck out 10 and finished the game with 1 hit and 1 earned run against, good for his 2nd win of the year.

The Yankees got RBI’s from Cano, Posada and Gardner in the 3-1 win over Oakland.  The Yankees wrap up their series with the A’s on 4/22 before heading to L.A. and Baltimore. New York will return to the Bronx on 4/30 to host the Chicago White Sox.

Yankees tickets are available for all games.
