David Krejci scored two goals as Tuukka Rask collected 30 saves for the Boston Bruins to defeat the Buffalo Sabres yesterday at the TD Garden, advancing them to the Eastern Conference Semi-Final round. The Bruins have now won six of eight playoff series against the Sabres. “We wanted to close it out because we didn’t want to go back to Buffalo,” said Rask. “We knew it would be tough.”

Krejci opened the festivities for the B’s with a power-play goal 13:39 into the first period. Mark Recchi then capitalized on another man-advantage at the start of the second just minutes before Patrick Kaleta was able to tack one on for Buffalo. The Bruins and Sabres battled with two goals apiece in the third block, resulting in a 4-3 victory for Boston.

The Bruins will be set to face the Pittsburgh Penguins if the Washington Capitals win over the Montreal Canadiens in Game 7 tomorrow night. In the case that the Canadiens can pull out a victory, Boston will be matched up with the Philadelphia Flyers.
