By on May 6, 2011 in

Seattle rock band Soundgarden will be taking center stage at the Comcast Center in Mansfield, MA as part of their 17-date North American tour this summer. The run will begin at the Molson Canadian Amphitheatre in Toronto, ON July 2nd and close at the Gorge Amphitheatre in Quincy, WA July 30th. Other cities to play host to Soundgarden include Philadelphia, Atlantic City, Chicago, San Francisco and Las Vegas.

The band will be hitting the road in anticipation for their first studio album since Down on the Upside (1996). They have yet to confirm an album title or release date but hope to have the new project out by the end of this year. Soundgarden has sold eight million records in the U.S. and an estimated twenty million worldwide due to their strong run in the 1990’s. They are most recognized by their 1994 album Superunknown featuring singles “The Day I Tried to Live”, “My Wave”, “Fell on Black Days”, “Spoonman” and “Black Hole Sun.”
