A-Rod & Texiera Go Yard, Yanks Win 7 Straight

The combination of Alex Rodriguez and Mark Texiera is proving to be a powerful one for the New York Yankees as the two sluggers again homered in the same game last night en route to a 9-1 Yankees victory over the Baltimore Orioles.  The win was the seventh straight for New York and their ninth win in eleven games.  C.C. Sabathia looked sharp in his fourth win of the year, giving up just three singles in seven innings.

A-Rod’s return to the lineup has really helped out the stuggling Mark Texiera. Since A-Rod’s return, Texiera has homered six times.  On Monday night Tex and A-Rod went back to back for the first time ever despite playing together in Texas for a few years. Wednesday night was the fourth straight game with a home run for Alex Rodriguez.

The recent win streak for the Yankees has tightened things up in the AL East. New York trails the first place Toronto Blue Jays by 3.5 games and their rival Red Sox by just 1 game.  Toronto is currently playing at Boston.  The Yankees will host Baltimore for two more before they welcome in the World Series Champion, Philadelphia Phillies for the start of interleague play on May 22.

New York Yankees tickets are available now for all games.
