Celtics second-year shooting guard Avery Bradley will miss the remainder of the postseason due to an ongoing shoulder injury. He is scheduled to undergo surgery today after fighting through several shoulder dislocations over the past few weeks.
The 21-year old was a great defensive presence for the Celtics all season long, who will have to march on without him Saturday night in Game 7 against the Philadelphia 76ers at TD Garden. The C’s will look to Ray Allen and Mickael Pietrus to step up in the absence of Bradley.
“It’s disappointing,” said Boston head coach Doc Rivers. “Obviously when a player goes down, that’s disappointing, especially on what Avery has given us this year. His growth this year has been terrific, and it’s been great, and he’s become a very valuable piece to our basketball team.”
The Miami Heat took care of business in their Eastern Conference semifinal matchup against the Indiana Pacers, closing out the series in six games last night at American Airlines Arena. The winner of Game 7 tomorrow will head south right away for Games 1 and 2 of the East finals in Miami starting early next week. Purchase your Celtics vs Sixers Game 7 tickets here.
