David Ortiz Leads All-Star Voting at DH

Red Sox veteran slugger David Ortiz is leading the first round of All-Star balloting at his poisition, gaining 1,204,904 votes as DH. The 15-year player is putting up career numbers this seson, averaging .315 with 13 homers and 37 RBI’s. Texas Rangers DH Michael Young is behind Ortiz with 1,049,170 votes.

Boston’s Dustin Pedroia is third in voting at second base behind Rangers’ Ian Kinsler and Yankees’ Robinson Cano. Pedroia will be back in the lineup tonight after missing six games with a torn muscle in his right thumb.
