Black Eyed Peas Back at the Garden

The Black Eyed Peas, who were in town this past March at the start of their The End world tour, are back again for another showcase around the US. The American tour schedule is rather timely considering the Peas just released what could potentially be their sixth Top 10 single from 2009’s The E.N.D. (The Energy Never Dies). The E.N.D. also yielded the Grammy winning anthem “I Gotta Feeling”, which just about every person can sing whether they like to admit it or not, and “Boom Boom Pow”. While the band progressively recieved more mainstream attention with each album, The E.N.D. was the end of all anonymity, crowning the band dance music royalty.

The Peas performed last week in South Africa for the kick-off of the FIFA World Cup, validating that their songs are sensations worldwide just as they are in the US. During their trip they confirmed that a new album is already in the works, tentatively titled The E.N.D. Volume 2 as is a tour documentary and music-inspired fantasy film project with James Cameron, director of Avatar.

Since the release of Elephunk in 2003 and the addition of lead vocalist and only female member Fergie, their popularity and commercial success has skyrocketed, launching the bands as one of the most recognizable sounds on the radio. While it may seem like they have far too much on their plate right now, will.i.am reassures that The E.N.D. world tour (making its way to Boston’s TD Garden August 3rd) is surely the bands priority for the summer.

The group is currently touring Europe, hitting Paris and making waves headlining European music festivals throughout Spain, Italy, Greece, England, Ireland and Belgium as well as in Canada. The Boston show will be their first American show of the tour, hitting eight major US cities and 8 Canadian cities and 2 music festivals, wrapping up the tour late August.
