ESPN.com just recently reported that free agents LeBron James, Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh met earlier this week in Miami to talk business before franchises are able to reach out to the super-stars on July 1st. Wade previously made clear that his first choice will be to stay with the Miami Heat, but also expressed his interest to meet with other players facing career-changing decisions this summer. In the possible scenario that Miami can deal Michael Beasley to a team with salary-cap space, the organization could afford to bring in James and Bosh while re-signing Wade.
Sports analyst Stephen A. Smith believes that the trio has already vowed to figure a way to make it work. “I got a call last night from a source and I double-checked it with another and they told me essentially that LeBron James and Chris Bosh are going to tag team and go together and join Dwyane Wade in Miami,” he said. “I believe it’s highly likely, I wouldn’t say anything is a done deal with LeBron James until it’s signed.”
The 2x MVP is also scheduled to meet with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Chicago Bulls, Dallas Mavericks, New Jersey Nets and New York Knicks. Many are still convinced he’ll remain a Cavalier in light of the organizations ability to offer as much as $30 million more than other suitors. The Bulls make a good case with their ability to immediately surround the King with strong role players that include Joakim Noah and Derrick Rose.
