West Side Story At Boston’s Colonial Theatre

The classic Broadway production West Side Story has been running at the Colonial Theatre in Boston since Tuesday, June 14th and will continue to run at the 1,700 capacity venue for 13 more performances. The final show in Boston will take place on Saturday, July 9th. Other cities set to welcome in the play are Minneapolis, Chicago, Greenville, Tempe, Dallas, Charlotte, Denver, Seattle and Cincinnati.

West Side Story first opened its doors to the public in 1957, running for 732 performances and claiming two Tony Awards in the process. The original production spawned the 1961 musical film, which took home a total of 10 Academy Awards.  Leonard Bernstein’s score for the musical remains extremely popular; headlined by songs that include “Something’s Coming,” “Maria,” “America,” “Somewhere,” “Tonight,” “A Boy Like That” and “I Feel Pretty.”
