Seven-year veteran Dwayne Wade is expected to re-sign with his Miami Heat this week while attracting fellow super-star free agent Chris Bosh in the process. The 2006 NBA Finals MVP previously expressed his desire to stay in Miami, but also requested that the front office do their best to surround him with suitable role players. Bosh is certainly more than qualified to serve as D-Wades sidekick, averaging over 20 points and 10 rebounds per game in his time with the Toronto Raptors.
The final step in this year’s free agency frenzy will occur tomorrow night at 9 PM, when LeBron James announces his future during a one-hour special on ESPN. The 25-year old phenom hasn’t given any indication as to where he is leaning after listening to various pitches from the Cleveland Cavaliers, New Jersey Nets, New York Knicks, Miami Heat, Los Angeles Clippers and Chicago Bulls. Despite the fact that he met with Wade and Bosh to discuss the possibility of joining together earlier this summer, he never let his team USA buddies in on his other plans and opinions.
Many are speculating that James will remain in Cleveland with Chicago and New Jersey as the other two relevant contenders. He can still sign with the Heat to make the ultimate Big 3 assuming they could settle for a minor paycut. If the Nets can lure in LeBron, they will next look to sign either Carlos Boozer or David Lee. More NBA offseason updates to come!
