Celtics Officially Sign Jason Terry

By on July 18, 2012 in

The Boston Celtics recently inked 13-year veteran guard Jason Terry to a three-year, $15 million contract utilizing the midlevel exception. Terry agreed to sign with the Celtics earlier this offseason, long before Ray Allen made his decision to join the Miami Heat. With the loss of Allen and Avery Bradley’s uncertain status after two shoulder surgeries, the C’s will call on Terry to play a significant role at the start of the regular season.

“Jason is one of the best sixth men in the NBA and his versatility in the backcourt is a great addition to our roster,” said Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge.

Terry is no stranger to playoff competition, as he led the Dallas Mavericks alongside Dirk Nowitzki to their first NBA title over the Heat in 2011. “The Celtics have such a great tradition of winning and it was something that drew me to the team right away,” said Terry. “I look forward to getting out onto the court and helping this team in its pursuit of another banner.” Check back for more Boston Celtics offseason updates.
