Cody Ross belted two three-run homers in the third and fourth innings to power the Boston Red Sox past the Chicago White Sox 10-1 yesterday at Fenway Park. Between Ross’s two shots to left and Adrian Gonzalez’s three hits and four RBI’s, Boston was able to coast to an easy victory following Tuesday night’s disheartening 7-5 loss.
Felix Doubront allowed one run and four hits through six innings with two strikeouts for the Red Sox. Matt Albers, Mark Melancon and Andrew Miller held Chicago hitless in the final three innings from there.
Felix was outstanding tonight,” said Ross. “He got himself in a bind early, in that first inning, but he managed to get out of it. He was just dominant after that. He was flipping his curveball over, and getting some swings and misses. He was getting a lot of ground-ball outs. He pitched outstanding.”
Boston will host the White Sox for one more game tonight before welcoming in the Toronto Blue Jays for three games this weekend. Find the best available Boston Red Sox ticket deals here at Ace!
