After selling out headlining concerts in New York, Los Angeles and Nashville, ACM and CMA Vocal Group of the Year Lady Antebellum are bringing their Need You Now 2010 Tour to Agganis Arena. While the group is touring with Tim McGraw for the rest of July they begin their headlining tour in London in August and come to the arena at Boston University on October 14th with David Nail.
Lady Antebellum first took country music by storm in 2008 following the release of their self-titled platinum certified debut album, which yielded the hits “Love Don’t Live Here,” and their no. 1 “I Run To You.” The Grammy Award winning trio’s follow-up, the double platinum album Need You Now (2009), debuted at no. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 chart and has already spawned the multi-week #1 smash hits “Need You Now” and “American Honey.” “Need You Now” has been certified triple platinum after spending five consecutive weeks at no. 1 on the Billboard Country Songs chart and setting the record for 2009’s longest run at no. 1, even crossing over to pop radio stations nearing the top of the Top 40s chart. Their success was confirmed this week by Billboard who certified Need You Now as the runaway best-selling album in the US of 2010, having so far sold over 2.3 million copies, ahead of Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga.
Comprised of singers Hillary Scott and Charles Kelley and multi-instrumentalist Dave Haywood, Lady Antebellum began when Scott and Kelley met and agreed to start songwriting together. They began opening shows for big country artists, as well as earning high-profile gigs in the clubs around Nashville. Since, they’ve taken Nashville by storm, as well as the rest of the country, crossing over country and pop charts and selling out major venues. Lady Antebellum tickets are now available!
