Patriots Begin Training Camp Sessions

By on July 26, 2012 in

The New England Patriots will open up training camp today at Gillette Stadium. The team’s practice is set for 1:30 this afternoon and will be open to the public. With 89 players on the current roster, the Patriots are required to reduce their number of players to 75 by August 27th and 53 by August 31st.

The Pats are predicted by many as favorites to win the Super Bowl. Tom Brady will be back in action alongside a much improved receiving core, as the franchise signed Brandon Lloyd and Jabar Gaffney earlier in the offseason. Meanwhile, Bill Belichick had his eyes set on revamping last year’s struggling defense, drafting defensive end Chandler Jones and inside linebacker Dont’a Hightower. The team also re-signed safety James Ihedigbo and DT Kyle Love.

These additions certainly give the defending AFC Champions to a great shot at playing for the title again in 2013. The Patriots will kick off their preseason campaign against the New Orleans Saints August 9th after a pair of joint practices with the team that week. Their regular season will begin at Tennessee against the Titans September 9th. New England Patriots tickets are now available!
