Jacobs Talks Giants – Jets Rivalry

Veteran RB Brandon Jacobs is no longer a member of the New York Giants but still didn’t hesitate to defend the organization as New York’s team in a recent interview with CBSSports.com. He shared his opinions on how the New York Jets will never obtain the Super Bowl title they seem to talk about and guarantee so frequently.

“They were in the AFC championship game twice in a row, but the year after that the Giants win the Super Bowl. That discredits everything as far as the battle of the City. They can’t ever one-up the Giants – not in my eyesight, not in anyone else’s eyesight,” said Jacobs. “It’s a circus, man. But every year it’s like that. Obviously, the Jets have some great players. Bart Scott, (Darrelle) Revis, (Antonio) Cromartie – they have a good defense, no question about it.

Jacobs won two Super Bowl titles with the Giants in seven seasons before signing with the San Francisco 49ers this off-season. Some of his comments were in reference to this year’s most popular debacle at Jets training camp; the ongoing quarterback controversy between Mark Sanchez and Tim Tebow. “But all this stuff surrounding Tebow and Sanchez. I truly think it’s going to be Sanchez. He’s going to be the guy. He’s got to be the guy. He’s the natural quarterback out of the two. That’s just my opinion.” Catch the latest NFL updates here at Ace!
