Darrelle Revis Returns to Jets Practice

All-Pro cornerback Darrelle Revis made an interception and broke up two passes yesterday in his first practice since holding out through all of New York Jets training camp. After a number of meetings over the past 36 days, the Jets and Revis finally agreed on a four-year deal worth $46 million. Revis was thrilled to be back on the field with his teammates, saying “I didn’t know how my they were going to accept me because I haven’t been here for a month. I had butterflies, but after they started chanting my name a little bit, it was a good feeling.”

The Jets are scheduled to begin their regular season campaign at the New Meadowlands Stadium against the Baltimore Ravens Monday, September 13th at 7:00 PM. Ravens fullback LeRon McClain shared his excitement for Revis’s return, saying “there won’t be any excuses now.” New York head coach Rex Ryan then found the nearest media outlet to respond: “I don’t know what’s wrong with LeRon. He said something about there’s no excuses…He must have us confused with somebody else. I don’t think we make any excuses. Last year, we didn’t have our starting 11 guys on defense for a single game and yet we led the league.” Jets vs. Ravens tickets are now available!
