ESPN Week 1 NFL Power Rankings

By on September 9, 2009 in’s NFL analysts have just released the Power Rankings for Week 1.  Together the four reporters rated the defending Super Bowl champion Pittsburgh Steelers at the top of the list, with the New England Patriots and New York Giants holding the #2 and #3 spots. 

The Eagles are Ranked #4 with the Colts and Chargers following.  Even though the top of the list has hovered around the same, other changes have been made going into the opening week.  The Packers have jumped six spots from 17th to 11th.  The Seattle Seahawks moved up three sports, and the Bears and Saints climbed up one.  The Texans, Cowboys, and Panthers all fell three spots.

The first regular season game for this year will take place at Heinz field, when the Steelers take on the Tennessee Titans.  New England will officially start their year against the Buffalo Bills on September 14th at Gillette Stadium.
