The Baltimore Ravens proved their worth after shutting down the outspoken New York Jets in yesterday’s defensive battle. The Tennessee Titans and New England Patriots showcased their offensive abilities, racking up 38 points apiece to start the season at 1-0. Chicago Bears 19, Detroit Lions 14 – Calvin Johnson almost led the Lions to their first away victory in three years but couldn’t secure the football in the end zone, giving the Bears the controversial W.

Tennessee Titans 38, Oakland Raiders 13 – RB Chris Johnson racked up 154 yards and two touchdowns from 27 carries.

New England Patriots 38, Cincinnati Bengals 24 – QB Tom Brady completed 25 passes for 258 yards and three TD’s.

New York Giants 31, Carolina Panthers 18 – Hakeem Nicks hauled in three TD’s for the Giants to earn their first win at the New Meadowlands.

Pittsburgh Steelers 15, Atlanta Falcons 9 – Rashard Mendenhall broke free for 50 yards and a TD 2:35 into overtime to lift his Steelers past Atlanta.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers 17, Cleveland Browns 14 – Josh Freeman marched his men down field in the fourth block for the final touchdown to edge Cleveland by 3.

Jacksonville Jaguars 24, Denver Broncos 17 – David Garrard threw for 170 yards and three touchdowns from 16 passes completed.

Houston Texans 34, Indianapolis Colts 24 – Arian Foster led Houston to victory with 231 yards and three TDs from 33 carries.

Arizona Cardinals 17, St Louis Rams 13 – Larry Fitzgerald’s late-game TD spoiled rookie QB Sam Bradford’s NFL debut as the Cards went on to win by 4.

Green Bay Packers 27, Philadelphia Eagles 20 – Michael Vick rallied the Eagles with 10 fourth quarter points, but it wasn’t enough to completely recover from Green Bay’s 14 points in the third.

Seattle Seahawks 31, San Francisco 49ers 6 – The Seahawks defense shutout San Francisco in the second half as the offense went to work with 31 total points.

Washington Redskins 13, Dallas Cowboys 7 – Donovan McNabb notched the W in his first game in Redskins uniform at FedEx Field.
