First she announced it via Twitter. Now it’s official. World-famous pop singer, Lady Gaga, has announced dates for her North American tour, “Born This Way Ball.” Set to kick off on January 11, 2013 at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, the singer is scheduled to play 3 shows in Canada and 23 in the United States.
The final announced date for the tour in North America is March 16 at the American Airlines Arena in Miami, FL. Gaga did tweet, however, that these dates were the “first installment of the US/Canada tour” so it is likely that more dates will be announced later.
According to Billboard, Gaga’s previous tour, “Monster Ball,” was “the biggest tour ever by a debut headlining artist.” In over 200 shows and in front of 2.5 million people, the show grossed $227.4 million. With even more popularity than ever before, “Born This Way Ball” is sure to be a huge success. Having started April 27, 2012 in Seoul, South Korea, the tour has already sold out tickets for every show thus far through out Asia, Australia and Europe.
In amongst all of this, Gaga has also announced her upcoming album “ARTPOP.” She says it is “not just an ALBUM it’s a PROJECT.” She explains that the album will be “a multimedia experience that comes in different forms… as an iPad, iPhone, mobile and computer application… that is completely interactive.” It will include chats, games and magazines. The album released date has yet to be announced but on her website, littlemonsters.com, Gaga alludes to the upcoming holiday season.
