Buchholz, Red Sox Handle Royals

Red Sox DH David Ortiz delivered once again, this time going deep in the fourth and knocking in three game total RBI’s as Boston went on to defeat the Kansas City Royals 10-3.  Clay Buchholz pitched brilliantly for the Sox, holding the Royals scoreless in his six innings pitched while battling a fever.

“I was expecting to have to battle through, especially after the first inning,” Buchholz said after his second scoreless outing this season. “I threw some good pitches that got hit, left some pitches up and was able to bounce back the next inning and got on a pretty good roll.”

Heading into the home stretch of the 2009 regular season the entire Red Sox lineup is also on ‘a pretty good role.’  They are now five games behind the Yankees in the AL East Standings and need just three more wins to clinch the Wild Card.  Their first game at the Bronx this weekend is scheduled for tonight at 7:05 pm.

Boston Red Sox tickets are still available!
