Boston Celtics All-Star power forward Kevin Garnett has declared he’s healthy and looking forward to this upcoming season. Since last week he has been able to scrimmage 5-on-5 with his teammates. “It’s up and down, man. There ain’t no standing around in 5-on-5,” said Garnett. “My leg is almost 100 percent going forward. Better than anything I’m playing without any pain, which is something I really haven’t had for some time now.” Garnett is not only thrilled about being able to compete but has also developed a quick liking to the play of new additions Rasheed Wallace, Marquis Daniels, and Sheldon Williams.
“In the pickups we’ve played here, you already see it – him and I on the same page,” said Garnett specifically of Sheed. “I can’t even describe it…To be honest, it’s just weird to see him here in the green, and see how our chemistry is without even touching the ball, just how we flow.”
The Celtics are now at new highs with their core lineup back with new veteran talents. They will be opening up at the TD Banknorth Garden Friday, October 9th against the New York Knicks. Their first official game will take place on October 27th against the Cavaliers in Cleveland before hosting the Charlotte Bobcats back in Boston on the 28th.
